Albuquerque Museum and the Free Old Town Walking Tour

πŸ›οΈ The Museum

The Albuquerque Museum sits right next to Old Town and covers the city's history and art, with a Route 66 centenary exhibition while we were there.

🚢 The Walking Tour

The real highlight was the free Old Town walking tour, included with museum entry and led by a knowledgeable volunteer docent. We learned far more about the plaza, the church and the adobe buildings than we would have alone.

One thing to note: tickets are for the same day only, so you can't do the walking tour one day and the museum the next.

β˜• A Coffee Break

The museum cafΓ© made a handy pit stop between the tour and the galleries.

πŸ“‹ Tips for the Albuquerque Museum

  • πŸ“… Do the tour and the galleries on the same day.
  • πŸ†“ Look out for the free Sunday morning entry.
  • 🌳 Walk the sculpture garden.
  • 🍫 Finish with a Mexican hot chocolate on the plaza.
