Albuquerque
Albuquerque, New Mexico, pairs a historic Old Town with museums, great coffee and the spot where Route 66 crosses itself.
🌶️ Welcome to Albuquerque
Albuquerque is New Mexico's biggest city and a brilliant base for a few days. Old Town, with its plaza and adobe church, is the heart of it, and the museums are clustered nearby.
🏛️ Museums and Old Town
The Albuquerque Museum and the Museum of Natural History & Science are a short walk from the plaza. Around the square you'll find cafés, galleries and New Mexican food.
One thing to note: museum tickets are often same-day only, so plan tours and galleries for the same visit.
📋 Quick Tips
- 🛣️ Visit 4th and Central, where two Route 66 alignments meet.
- ☕ The independent coffee scene is excellent.
- 🚗 Santa Fe is about an hour away for a day trip.
