Las Vegas, Nevada, is far more than casinos: big-name shows, the Sphere, desert parks and easy day trips into California and Utah.
π° Welcome to Las Vegas
Las Vegas in Nevada is the city everyone thinks they know. Yes, there are casinos on every corner of the Strip, but there is also a surprising amount to do away from the tables, from headline shows and museum-style exhibitions to red-rock scenery just half an hour from the neon.
π Shows and Spectacle
The entertainment is the real draw. The Sphere has changed the skyline, and the classic showrooms still host long-running residencies and tribute acts. Booking ahead is wise for anything popular.
ποΈ Beyond the Strip
Red Rock Canyon's scenic drive, the Arts District downtown and the Premium Outlets are all easy by car. Las Vegas also makes a good base for day trips to Shoshone in California and St. George in Utah.
One thing to note: indoor spaces are kept very cool, so carry a light layer even on a hot day.
π Quick Tips
- π A hire car opens up the desert day trips.
- ποΈ Book shows and timed exhibitions in advance.
- π§ Carry water whenever you leave the city.
